2D Assets

ANIMATED PIXEL ART
Stranger Things 3: The Game
Tools: Photoshop
2019

I created multiple animated character sprites for the official Stranger Things 3 game, both from scratch and also using BonusXP’s workflow assets and templates; the team was very communicative, which made this project great to work on!

3D Modeling & Textures

3D BOX (NO PUN INTENDED) MODELLING
Fan Work (inspired by Hytale)
Tools: Blender, Aseprite, Photoshop
2023

I concepted this little kobold myself, built this model in Blender, and textured it with Aseprite, as a tribute to (and a test of my ability to work in) Hytale’s distinctive blocky style.

Studying screenshots to figure out style-appropriate uses of blocks & planes, as well as the texture resolution Hytale uses, was challenging but rewarding!

Concept Art & Mockups

STYLE EXPLORATIONS, DIGITAL ILLUSTRATIONS
Unannounced project

Tools: Procreate, Photoshop
2022

I worked closely with this client to try and establish a mood and visual direction for a project still in the conceptual phase, including building a substantial mood board and communicating my thoughts thoroughly.

Art Direction & Game Design

ART DIRECTION, VECTOR GAME ASSETS
SCUBA
Tools: Illustrator, Photoshop
2018

I worked with a team of fellow students on SCUBA, which won 2nd place in the 2018 Chillennium Game Jam. The 48-hour game jam was both a high-pressure challenge and an absolute blast!

My biggest contribution was art direction; I established a visually cohesive look by creating a screenshot mockup and made vector assets in that style, but I also participated heavily in game design discussions and team organization.

Game UI Design

MOBILE & DESKTOP UI
Conspiracy Theory

Tools: Photoshop, Figma
2021

I worked with GameApart (now known as heyLime) to develop the UI styling for porting the Conspiracy Theory boardgame to their platform.

The game has both desktop and mobile elements that work together, so going for a conspiracy theorist’s literal desktop look (with a dash of National Treasure inspiration), and small flip notebooks for the players’ mobile interfaces, just felt right.

2D Effect Animation

2D ANIMATIONS
ShoeJackCity
Tools: Procreate, Photoshop
2021

I worked with this client to make ability effect animations for their Megaman Battle Network inspired mobile game; there were some fun challenges in this one, including making an ukiyo-e inspired fire blast.
